A little fun with Pappy.  Hello?  hello?

 

     

It's so delightful how well these telephones work with just plastic cups and thread.  Great fun for a rainy day.

Peeking into my neighbors yard (sshhh).  Look how adorable (do you think it is homemade?).

We discovered that when our walnut boats were not completely filled with wax they tended to fill up with water instead.  As you can see by this last pic they would capsize ~ we are now working on the new improved version.

We had a lot of fun with this project though and were able to put some 'old' art projects of Rose Red's to use making the sails.  Moldable wax would work too but all we had was the candle.

Rose Red received these wonderful bean bags from Romeo's mommy for Christmas ~ homemade with love.  She slept with them.

 

We are also carrying this little man around with us everywhere we go.  She loves how he "flips" and I love the old fashioned gymnastics leotard he is wearing which always makes me laugh.  This one her grandad made for her for Christmas.

 

Don't you just love homemade toys?

Today we are taking some of summer's bounty and recycling to make new playthings.  After these roasted corn cobs dry up in the hot sun Rose Red will be able to use them in her play.  They are supposed to be lots of fun to 'grate' by rubbing two cobs together making "corn dust" among other things.  I can't wait to see what she does with them!
